MI Community Scholarship Program

The Mercer Island Community Scholarship is a long-standing Island tradition that awards scholarships to 28 MIHS graduating seniors each spring. This scholarship program is administered by the MI PTA Council in collaboration with the MIHS Administration, MIHS PTA, and the greater MI community.

Scholarship recipients demonstrate perseverance, a passion for learning, a team player mentality, and are positive contributors to the classroom and community. Students are identified by MIHS faculty from 10 areas: English, Math, Performing Arts, Science, Social Studies, Visual Arts, World Language, College & Career Readiness (CCR), Special Education, Crest Learning Center, and English Language Development.

Recipients are celebrated at an annual Awards Night in late spring, where each student is honored by an MIHS teacher. Additionally, student recipients receive a scholarship up to $500 for future educational expenses. View the past scholarship recipients HERE.

The MI Community Scholarship Program is funded through the sale of Grad Grams and by direct donations from individuals, community organizations and local businesses. Since scholarships are funded entirely by the community-at-large, your financial support makes it possible to recognize these graduates who have been selected by their teachers for this honor.

MI PTA Council invites you to join us in our efforts of supporting Mercer Island students. We appreciate donations of any amount and thank you for your support!

Let’s come together to support students within our shared Mercer Island Community!
