Nancy Schaps Memorial Grant

The Nancy Schaps Memorial Grant was established in memory of Nancy Schaps and has been given annually since 1996. Until her death from cancer in 1996, Nancy Schaps actively supported Mercer Island’s youth through her volunteer work for the PTA and other Mercer Island community organizations. Consistent with Nancy’s wishes, the Grant recognizes Mercer Island youth who have suffered the death of a parent or who are currently experiencing the terminal illness of a parent. The grant also recognizes Mercer Island youth whose parents are serving on active military duty.

Elementary, middle, or high school students will receive a grant of up to $500 to support an activity or purpose that aids their adjustment to this difficult life change.
