Graduate Grams — A Mercer Island Tradition for 50 years!

For 50 years, family, friends, businesses, and community organizations have sent Grad Grams to Mercer Island students to acknowledge their graduation. Grad Grams are available to purchase for students completing 5th, 8th and 12th grades. 

Each Grad Gram is printed on parchment paper, personalized with your congratulatory message, and mailed directly to the graduate’s home. Grad Grams purchased by Friday, May 15 will arrive before graduation. The final deadline to purchase Grad Grams is Friday, June 5, 2026.

All proceeds from the sales of Grad Grams go to the Mercer Island Community Scholarship Program, which recognizes outstanding MIHS graduating seniors. Scholarship recipients embody MISD’s 4B’s by believing in the limitless potential of themselves and others, fostering a strong sense of belonging, removing barriers to participation and success, and broadcasting diverse student voices.

You can support this program by purchasing Grad Grams or by donating directly to the MI Community Scholarship Program. Your contributions allow our community to provide over 20 students with scholarship funds, up to $500 each, for future educational expenses.

The MI Community Scholarship Program is funded through the sale of Grad Grams and by direct donations from individuals, community organizations and local businesses. Since scholarships are funded entirely by the community-at-large, your financial support makes it possible to recognize these graduates who have been selected by their teachers for this honor.
