PTA Reflections Awards 2022-2023
Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school, but in life.
Students in pre-K through grade 12 create original works of art in response to a theme. The theme for the 2022-2023 program year is Show Your Voice. Students submit their completed works of art in one, or all, of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.
Congratulations to all MISD students who submitted entries, and especially to the following students who won their respective divisions and whose entries will be forwarded to the Reflections Washington State PTA round. Washington State PTA finalists who receive an “Outstanding Interpretation” award will advance to the National PTA round.
The Mercer Island PTA Council invites participating students and families to attend the Reflections Art Celebration and Award Ceremony, happening on Wednesday, February 8th at the Islander Middle School Commons from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. In addition, all entries will be exhibited at Yuan Ru Art Center in Bellevue with an exhibition open house on Sunday, March 26th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Come enjoy the visual arts, photography, literature, dance choreography, film production and music composition entries in this year’s Reflections Art Competition. The theme is “Show Your Voice”.
