YOUR ACTION NEEDED: Ask State Officials to Prioritize Funding for Education

Ask State Officials to Prioritize Funding for Education

This school year, Mercer Island School District (MISD) will be underfunded by the state by $7M. In addition, the state has capped the amount that MISD can raise through local levies. This is THE reason that parents are getting requests for donations from PTAs, booster clubs, and our local foundations, all of whom are working hard to fill this major funding gap so that we don't lose our counselors, our 5th grade band program, our arts and sports programs, our 7th class period at MIHS, etc.

But YOU can make a difference by asking our legislators and governor to fund the full cost of basic education during THIS legislative session. Please consider signing this letter today: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/request-to-prioritize-school-funding
